A special thanks goes out to the tens of hundreds of very creative teens who participated in OC Public Library’s 2008 Teen Poetry Contest and Teen Art Contest!
And congratulations to the San Juan Capistrano Regional Library poetry winners:

“The Seesaw” by Silda Lorenzo, age 16 – Second place
“Freedom is Not Free!” by Lily Grimes, age 15 – Third place

The creative talent of Brigette, Silda, and Lily was recognized at a recent meeting of the Friends of the San Juan Capistrano Library when the young poets were awarded cash prizes.
The poems have been printed in the 2008 edition of Voices in Verse along with the winning poems from all participating OCPL branches.
The front and back cover of the book display artwork by the 2008 OCPL Teen Art Contest winners Loren Wood, age 14, who entered at the San Clemente branch library, and Catherine Ryu, age 15, who entered at the Irvine Heritage Park regional library.
