Here at OC Stories, we believe that history begins with your history! We’re looking for photographs that depict the people, businesses, institutions, and events of historical significance to Orange County. Please upload your photographs and fill out the form below.

OC Public Libraries reserves the right to select the images and recordings that will be included in OC Stories.

OC Public Libraries’ Historical Images Committee will periodically review OC Stories collection materials for retention or deaccessioning.
How it works
  • Fill out the form and attach the file.
  • It may take 7 to 10 days for your photos to appear on the site.
  • Your contact information is for internal use only and will not appear in your post.
  • Please check the box on the form if it is OK for us to post your name.
Uploads
  • Submit scanned and digital photos at 150 ppi to 300 ppi resolution.
  • File types .jpg and .png only.
  • Do not include spaces or special characters (& # ! ? etc.) in file names.
We won’t accept
  • Inflammatory, obscene, offensive, or libelous material
  • Internet links in your content
  • Promotions of products or services
  • Violations of individuals’ privacy
  • Personal identifying information
Terms and Conditions
By publishing content on OC Stories you agree to our Image/Recording use agreement:

IMAGE/RECORDING USE AGREEMENT Authorization

I/We, the undersigned (“Owner”), hereby grant to the County of Orange the authorization to make, hold, share and use copies of my/our image(s) and/or recording(s) for non-commercial, educational purposes. Orange County’s educational use may include sharing the images and/or recordings with the Online Archives of California (“OAC”) and the Digital Public Library of America (“DPLA”). Both of these entities may make the images and/or recordings available for public viewing, downloading, printing, or reproduction for historical research.

Owner understands that all copyright ownership is retained by Owner. Owner waives all copyright restrictions on these images and/or recordings as they may pertain to these uses by the County of Orange (or any of its affiliated agencies or departments, including but not limited to OC Public Libraries), the OAC, and the DPLA.

I/We also waive the right to inspect or approve copies of image(s) and/or recording(s). Owner warrants that Owner has the right to grant permission for these uses as specified above and that these uses do not infringe the rights of any third parties. Owner also understands that the image(s) and/or recordings may appear on the World Wide Web and waives any liability for the County of Orange arising by any unauthorized use of the images and/or recordings by any third party.


Release

Owner hereby releases the County of Orange (and any of its affiliated agencies or departments, including but not limited to OC Public Libraries), the OAC, and DPLA from any claims that may arise from granting this authorization including any claims of defamation, invasion of privacy, or infringement of moral rights, rights of publicity, or copyright. In no event shall the OC Public Libraries be liable for the destruction of, or damage or injury to, said images caused by act of civil commotions, natural disasters, or other causes beyond its control.
Owner has read this Image/Recording Use Agreement and agrees to the conditions contained herein.
