Tuskegee Airmen to Talk at La Habra Branch Library

Live American History when you meet with members of the Tuskegee Airmen on Sunday, February 21 at 3:00 p.m. in the La Habra Branch Library Meeting Room. The Tuskegee Airmen will share their experiences as the first black airmen, serving in the 332^nd Fighter Group of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. They fought two enemies: racism and the Axis powers. The airmen are famous for the number of successful sorties they flew and for never losing a bomber. The presentation is free and open to the public; refreshments will be served.

High school volunteers help elementary school children with their homework Monday through Thursday in the Library Meeting Room. Parents need to register their students at their first session.
Mon-Thu -- Session One meets 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm; Session Two meets 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
There will be no Homework Help on Presidents' Day, Mon, Feb 15, 2010.

ABC Kids Storytime--- Pre-School Storytime welcomes children and caretakers to come and enjoy books, songs, finger plays, and a craft in our Library Meeting Room. We work to build pre-reading skills in the children, and to help parents to learn these skills to use at home. No registration necessary. We will be making our own ABC books, adding a new letter each week.
