This was taken very close to the intersection of Gilbert Ave. & G.G. Blvd. looking east toward Brookhurst St. I used to bowl a lot at the bowling alley on the right which was Garden Square Bowl. It lasted into the 1990's I think If you look over the top of that armored truck, you can see Zestos Burger (a small white building with a screened patio) Closer to the street is possibly the marquee for the Garden Grove Theater which was set back well of the street. This was torn down in the early to mid 1980's after all the Koreans started buying it all up. Way down on the left is you can see the sign for Wonderbowl.

Slight misidentification
If this photo was taken in 1966, the street was already named Garden Grove Blvd., the name change having taken place earlier.
