I believe the comment above that Tommy's Cafe was "previously" Lorge's Cafe may be incorrect. Other pictures of this building on this website refer to Tommy's Cafe (Tommy and Marie Beaulieu) from 1930 to 1948. I believe it was renamed from Tommy's to Lorge's some time after 1948. They then added a roof extension over the west porch, removed the "Groceries" sign, and added the "Dining and Dancing" sign. A phone booth was placed on the porch on the street (north) side; I remember using that phone booth when I was visiting grandma up there as a kid in the mid 50's. The building was located about 10-20 yards west of the ShadyBrook Market; it was torn down some time in the late 50's.
