[Rancho Santa Margarita y Las Flores]

Extending from Oceanside in San Diego County to Aliso Canyon in Orange County, the original Rancho Santa Margarita y Las Flores embraced over 230,000 acres (359 sq. miles). This map depicts various parcels incorporated into the property, which was acquired by James C. Flood and Richard O'Neill, Sr. in 1882. The new town of Rancho Santa Margarita is located on that part of the Rancho Mission Viejo originally called Rancho Trabuco, the oldest ranch name in the state.
